
Speaker Application Process
Step 1- Speaker Candidate Application: applicant fills out form with relevant evaluation information and critical data points.
Step 2- Selection Committee Review: identify potential speaker candidates based on needs, availability, comp, etc.
Step 3- Speaker Interview: casual introductions, background info, and application review (schedule options, compensation, and other). Usually via Zoom.
Step 4- Speaker Selection: committee selects potential speakers based on subject matter, expertise, schedule availability, comp, and other factors.
Step 5- Speaker Agreement Sent to Candidate: if selected, an agreement stating vital agreement terms such as topic, speaking date, and compensation will be drafted and sent to potential speakers
Step 6- Speaker signs and returns agreement: confirming vital terms (within 7 days).
Step 7- Agreement Counter Signature: FWPPA Countersigns and Returns Speaker Agreement to speaker. Speaker is considered 'locked-in' at this point.
Step 7- Marketing collateral is built and posted to social, websites, etc. to promote activities.
Step 9- Speaking Engagement- speaker delivers topic at monthly meeting or scheduled workshop, per agreement and as scheduled.
Step 10- Closing: FWPPA handles any applicable compensation terms and submits any applicable PPA merit requests.
